All about me:
Where I'm from:
I grew up in Kashmir, high in the Himalayas, where beauty and conflict live side by side—that’s life in a disputed land. My parents, both watchmakers, witnessed countless revolutions. In a place where barbed wires cut through the scenery, I found simple ways to stay active and hopeful.
initial life:
Raised in a Muslim family and educated at a Catholic school, I learned to balance different cultures early on. My childhood was spent chasing sunsets and binge-watching science shows, sparking a love for tech. Later, I did my bachelor's in Engineering and simultaneously became the first Airbnb host in the region, sharing my culture, stories and the realities of a life in conflict zone.
Breakthrough:
I packed my bags for Delhi and joined a startup Urban Clap, diving into the exciting world of digital products. The startup's small size helped me wear many hats, sparking my interest in experience design. I started by helping UX designers find users and set up sessions—that's where my journey began.
What I do now:
I've found my niche with over 5 years in Product Design, primarily in SaaS and Enterprise. I've worked with companies of multiple scales and also a design studio. I’m currently at ShareFile, a Citrix business unit that is now part of Progress.
What I do outside work:
Outside of design, I’m flying drones, making videos, capturing moments through my lens, or traveling. I’ve backpacked across India and recently explored the UK, from the Scottish Highlands to Britain’s southern tip. That’s a glimpse into my world—ask more if you’re curious!
